This highly visual and interactive seminar will teach innovative ways to renew your drawing self-confidence and amaze clients with easy to create conceptual sketches and renderings.

Guides users through the process of creating geolocated models that can be displayed in Google Earth. We’ll cover working between the applications, building efficient models, adding useful metadata and working with the Google 3D Warehouse.

Follow along as we explore the ins, outs, and all-abouts of the Follow Me tool. We’ll cover the basics of what you can do with the tool, then show you how to work quickly and share some tips to produce the best results.

In this presentation, Andrew presents his SketchUp models that have opened doors and attracted the attention of local press and government. Having been introduced to SketchUp in 7th grade, Andrew has created expansive models of his school campus and the Central Business District of Rye, NY. He used SketchUp for two summers as an intern in the Rye City Planning Department and presented to the City Council, as well as school administration, parents, and students. Andrew has channeled his interest in architecture and urban design through SketchUp and made a positive impact on his school and community. During the presentation, attendees will see how one computer program has brought new opportunities, challenges, and life skills to this 17-year-old high school student.

Expands on the techniques demonstrated in the “Modeling Smart” session, with an emphasis on using SketchUp’s extensive organizational tools to manage very large models. Learn how to use Layers, Groups, Components and the Outliner together to maintain your sanity.

Many, many people use image-editing software like Adobe Photoshop to “post-process” their exported SketchUp images. This session will cover techniques for adding depth of field, night rendering, reflections and more.

Covers the many ways you can incorporate digital imagery (including photographs) into your SketchUp workflow. Topics will include: taking useful digital pictures, using SketchUp’s photo-matching feature, applying photo-textures to faces, wrapping images around curved surfaces, and more.

Expands on the concepts introduced in “Hooray for Groups and Components”. This session will explore component substitution techniques, editing existing complex components, creating and working with components that automatically cut openings, building symmetrical and otherwise complex forms with component instances, and more.

You can use Style Builder to create custom non-photorealistic (NPR) Styles for SketchUp. NPR Styles can make your models appear hand-rendered, super-technical, and everything in between. This session proceeds step-by-step through the process of using Style Builder to make your own signature SketchUp Styles.
